Upper extremity orthotics describe orthoses, braces, and supports designed for the shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist and hand and can be used for a range of needs from stability to immobilization and include three main areas of orthoses: Upper extremity soft supports, upper extremity positional supports and upper extremity fracture orthoses.
Lower extremity orthotics describe orthoses, braces, and supports designed for the leg, hip, knee, ankle and foot and can be used for a range of needs from stability to immobilization. Lower extremity orthotics can work independently or in conjunction with one another to create a wide range of options from simple leg orthotics to a complex reciprocating gait orthotics with a custom-made orthopedic shoe.
Spinal orthoses, which include neck and back braces, are used to support and stabilize areas of the body from the jaw to the lower back and cervical spine. These types of orthoses may be used postoperatively to promote proper and safe healing, to treat a chronic disease or condition such as arthritis or used to treat an injury, such as whiplash.
At Innovative, we know that caring for children is vastly different than treating adults. We have a national pediatric orthotic team devoted to treating patients ranging from infants to adolescents. Innovative Clinic offers a full-range of rehabilitation products and services, including custom solutions for conditions such as plagiocephaly, scoliosis and cerebral palsy.
Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) is an abnormal curvature and twisting of the spine that affects children during adolescent growth periods. The cause is unknown, hence it is called idiopathic. It is usually painless and affects both boys and girls. Girls tend to be associated more with AIS as it progresses to need treatment, either a scoliosis brace or surgery.
Cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular conditions are complex. Our pediatric orthotics specialists address each child’s needs and partner with the integrated healthcare team to set appropriate treatment goals. We offer a range of mobility solutions for children at all degrees of severity
Being the only provider in the State of Nebraska offering Dynamic Movement Orthosis, we take great pride in the treatment of our children we treat.
Together with your physician, your orthotist/pedorthist will design an orthotic program to best suit your needs. This may include any of the following: extra-depth or custom shoes, custom insoles, healing shoes, shoe modifications, and/or a variety of ankle-foot orthoses. Each procedure will be outlined and explained thoroughly to you. Innovative offers a wide range of footwear and insoles. All visits and follow-ups are included in the price of shoes.
